Are you trying to decide how you are going to celebrate dear ‘ol Dad this Sunday? Well if you live in Orange County and like to have fun, you’re in luck because the Irish Fair and Music Festival is in town. That’s right, get ready for the largest festival of its kind in the Western United States, right in our Irvine apartment’s backyard! Located at Oak Canyon Park (the Southside of Irvine Lake), the Irish Fair features the best in Irish music and song, Irish dance, Irish horse show, Irish dog show and can you guess what else?! An Irish step dance competition! And don’t forget about the Irish food - Irish Fair chefs will prepare Irish and American foods with a special emphasis on traditional Irish “pub grub” of corned beef sandwiches, sausage rolls and scones. There will be an Irish tea shop that will offer “old country” hospitality along with delicious soda bread and teas. Plus you don’t have to worry while you’re at the fair because your favorite libations and Irish stouts will be readily in hand.

Shopping you ask? There will be over 100 Irishi import and gift shop vendors, along with the unique handmade wares of old world artisans, will line the gaily decorated O’Connell Street and Grafton Street market places and Tara Village, making for a shopper’s dream. Irish crystal, Beleek china, claddagh jewelry of every description, hand woodcarvings, imported Irish breads, pastries and candy, fine Irish lace, and much, much more will all be found at the Irish Fair Marketplace.

If you’re feeling a little spiritual on Sunday morning, not to worry, the Irish festival will be hosting both a Catholic and non-denominational Protestant Church service at 10AM.

Now that you have decided to share this fabulously fun even with your dad, here are some more details.
