Your apartment, the rain and Netflix = the perfect lazy-day in. Now that you have decided to stay indoors, your next important decision is what to watch on Netflix -- Netflix Original Series? Movies? Documentaries? The options are endless, but my vote goes to binge watching Netflix Original Series (N.O.S.), because well, they’re addicting. If you’re not familiar with N.O.S., not to worry, strap in and get ready for a streaming adventure with our top Netflix picks for the perfect day in.

Pick #1: House of Cards. If you have not been sucked into this awesome N.O.S., then read no further, this is the show for you. Starring Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Kate Mara, the Emmy- winning thriller will have you hooked from the first episode. A ruthless, cunning Congressman will stop at nothing to conquer the halls of power in Washington D.C. With three seasons available…you will be a House of Cards junkie in no time.

Pick #2: Bloodline. New to the Netflix family, Bloodline is a dramatic thriller that explores the demons lurking beneath the surface of a contemporary American family. The show starts off slow but hang-in because it gets oh-so good. Drugs, scandal and murder, this suspenseful show will keep surprising you until the end. Renewed for a second season to be released 2016.

Pick #3: Peaky Blinders. Two seasons deep for a full day of entertainment, Peaky Blinders is about a Birmingham, England crime organization known for its distinctive and lethal razor-brimmed caps. The story follows the life of an ambitious leader who leads his crew to great success after WWI, which peaks the interest of a chief inspector who is sent to Belfast to rid the city of its criminals. The accents are heavy but the story line is addicting.

Pick #4: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. From “30 Rock” executive producers, Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, this hilarious comedy, starring Ellie Kemper, follows a women who is rescued from a doomsday cult and starts life over as a nanny working for a socialite in New York City. Released in 2015, a newcomer to the Netflix family, the show is witty, entertaining and will keep you laughing.

Pick #5: Orange is the New Black. One of the most notable N.O.S., OITNB is an irresistible comedy (with some dark moments) about Piper Chapman who trades in her comfortable New York lifestyle for life in a women’s prison due to a crime she committed in her youth. The camaraderie and conflict that arises with the eccentric group of fellow inmates is entertaining to say the least.  Save the date for another Netflix binge day soon, because season three will be released June 12.

Well, there you have it, our top picks – although there are so many more great Netflix Original Series. Let us know if there are any other shows you would add to our list and enjoy your day indoors.
