You’re moving into your first apartments (fingers-crossed it is a Shea Apartment Community,) and are wondering what to do next after you get the keys? We have answers to all your questions.

First, connect your utilities. Typically, you’ll need to set up electrical and data/television services. To get an idea of what your monthly bills will cost you, you can ask the property management team or Google “average utility costs for ‘your zip code’.

Second, scout the neighborhood. You always want to know who and what’s around you, so why not explore? Check Yelp for restaurant recommendations and check out Foursquare for socially-powered reviews and insights. If you live at a Shea Apartment Community, our resident social hubs are a great first step to discovering the neighborhood.

Go for a walk.  Seriously, taking a stroll around your community is a great way to discover all it has to offer. Plus, you’ll learn all the ins-and-outs of your new home. Cover as much ground as possible.

Our friendly staff is at your disposal to answer questions, make suggestions and ensure your experience is superb. You can always Tweet us @SheaApartments for advice and support as well.

Welcome to the neighborhood.
