Paleo food pyramidA lot of our residents have been bit by the flu bug and we are here to help. Keep your body strong and avoid the flu by eating a healthy diet, and were not talking about the food pyramid kind of diet!

The health of your body all starts what you put in it, so forget what you have learned in the past because I am here to tell you it’s wrong. It’s time to throw away the grains and carbs and get your caveman on. Yep that’s right, your body was designed to live off nature’s goodness and that means plenty of proteins, vegetables and healthy fats!!! If you gasped after reading that last sentence you might be going through a little bit of reality shock, but you will notice a smaller waist line, better quality of life and a stronger immune system = disease prevention.

So what’s this “diet” called? PALEO – the caveman diet; it’s all about eating real food. “The Paleo diet is the healthiest way you can eat because it is the ONLY nutritional approach that works with your genetics to help you stay lean, strong and energetic,” stated Robb Wolf, author of the Paleo Diet Solution. “Research in biology, biochemistry, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and many other disciplines indicate it is our modern diet, full of refined foods, trans fats and sugar, that is at the root of degenerative diseases such as obesity, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, depression and infertility.”

Lean Proteins such as fish and chicken support healthy muscles and immune system, not to mention it keeps the body satisfied and full between meals.

Fruits and Veggies are rich in antioxidants, vitamin and minerals.

Healthy fats such as nuts, seeds avocados, olive oil, fish and grass-fed meat are rich in monounsaturated and Omega-3 fats, which mean it dramatically, reduce obesity, cancer, diabetqes, heart disease and more.

If you want to avoid the flu and get started on the track to a healthier lifestyle, order Robb Wolfs The Paleo Solution to learn all the benefits of the paleo diet, there’s too many to explain in one blog.
