bachelor pad done right

Maybe you’re just starting out, or maybe you’re just trying something different, either way you’re in need of a swanky new bachelor pad.  Even if the only design instruction you’ve received came from accidentally watching 15 minutes of HGTV when your remote control batteries died, you can still rock a high-end bachelor pad look by following these five tips:

Tip 1 – Location is everything.  If you’re going to be flying solo; you’re going to want access to the best in nightlife, daylife and everything in-between. Choose a place with easy access to world-class entertainment, dining and proximity to major attractions. City Lights at Town Center Apartments  offers a great pool scene and next-door proximity to the Aliso Viejo Town Center, which affords locales like Stadium Brewing Company, OPAH, On The Border and many more.  Valentia in San Diego is within walking distance to La Jolla’s University Town Center (UTC) and has a distinctively urban feel.  Wherever you elect to call home, make sure you dig the location.

Tip 2 – Choose a sophisticated color scheme. Mix shades of gray with one accent color and stick with this formula.  Avoiding beige, browns, and tans warmer colors will give your pad a more masculine design.

Tip 3 – Use mirrors to open up the space. Not only do mirrors enhance natural light, they create an illusion of greater space. Your pad will seem larger and more open, allowing you to install that 62” LED TV and Xbox360 without overcrowding your living room.

Tip 4 – Splurge on sheets. There are a few places of your pad you’ll want to ensure have a high-end feel. Your bedroom is definitely one of them. Source some sheets with a thread count of 350 or higher. Or if you’re looking to save time, pick up a ready-to-go set  from W Hotels, The Store

Tip 5 – Shop online. Pick up some cool pieces from an online retailer. You’ll gain some inspiration from browsing their website and you’ll avoid a time-sucking trip to IKEA. Here are some online destinations to get you started:
